Anastasia Samaras

Anastasia P. Samaras is a Professor of Education in the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University. She is a pedagogical scholar with extensive teaching and publishing activity directly related to her signature work in the self-study research methodology, including Self-Study Teacher Research. Anastasia is recipient of the Dissertation Research Award, University of Virginia, the Outstanding Scholar Award, University of Maryland, a Fulbright Scholar, and a visiting scholar at the University of Iceland, Vrije University, Victoria University, University of Ioannina, University of KwaZulu-Natal, and Beijing Normal University. She serves as Academic Program Coordinator of the Secondary Education Program, Chair of the Self-Study of Teacher Education Special Interest Group, and co-facilitator of Self-Study Scholars’ Collaborative (S3C) on the Visually Rich Digital Learning Environment. Her research centers on designing and studying Neo-Vygotskian-based applications in transdisciplinary professional practice, including her own.
